One of the best movies of all time, Gladiator, is a story about winning freedom. This story of bondage to freedom is a powerful metaphor for life AND getting rich.

Turns out, without money, you are automatically in bondage. You are behind bars… a slave to the system whether you realize it or not.

Hurts to say it, but your default destiny is trading time (your life) for money until the bitter end. Like Rocky said; “I don’t care how tough you are, it (the system) will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it.” Unless you take the journey of creating a business, you’ll never get ahead. Hell, you’ll never even own your life.

The good news… you have the ability to escape the system. Freedom is yours for the taking.

Making Money a Must

The reality is, whatever you make a top priority is what gets done. When you make something a MUST instead of a SHOULD you naturally make it happen. When you want to get rich as bad as you want to breathe, it’s just around the corner.

When every fiber of your being is pointed in one direction, you are powerful. Michael Jordan didn’t think “it sure would be nice to win.” No. Michael Jordan thought “I will win no matter what and I will do whatever it takes.” Michael Jordan pointed every fiber of his being in one direction: winning. And he did.

Until you make getting rich an absolute MUST, until you want to get rich as bad as you want to breathe, it won’t happen. Every fiber of your being has to be pointed toward getting rich. Only then, are you truly on the right path.

Getting Clear on “Why”

Getting rich starts with recognizing exactly why it matters. When you truly see why it matters, a strong sense of urgency naturally follows. This is when getting rich transforms from a ‘nice to’ or ‘should’ into a MUST.

Until you get crystal clear on why you want to take a journey, you’ll never take the first steps. Without a rock-solid WHY, you definitely won’t keep going when the path gets rough.

Getting rich is just like that. It’s like climbing an unknown mountain, to an unknown peak, by yourself, in the dark, with a flashlight that works half the time. You’re going to encounter hardship over and over again and without a strong determination that is rooted in a strong why, you’ll quit.

Have you truly contemplated what life would be like if you were rich? What if you could live anywhere you wanted, where would it be? What if you could travel anywhere you wanted, where you go? What if you could buy whatever you wanted, what would you buy? What if you could give to whoever you wanted, who would it be?

Money = freedom. It’s that simple. If you have money, you are free. Choices, options, and doorways that were once closed, are now open.

The human longing is freedom. You want to be free. You want to be free to do whatever you want, whenever you want. You want to be free to travel. You want to be free to live where you want. You want to be able to give to who you want. The only way to gain this freedom is by making money.

Get rich and you are free.

Reason #2: Money Empowers You to Influence

People with money are empowered to influence.

When you have money, women want you and men want to be like you. You automatically become a person of influence… someone worth listening to and someone worth being with.

Because of this, you become a person who can inspire. You become influential. Hell, you might even get invited to speak to congress like Kim Kardashian recently did.

Money gives you influence. The more money you have, the more power you have to point people and society in new directions. If you really want to help people, the ability influence is paramount. If you really want to help society, becoming an influential person is the only way.

Get rich and you become an influential person.

Reason #3: Money Enables You to Give

You can’t give what you don’t have. Let me repeat: you can’t give what you don’t have. Until you get it, you can’t give it.

When you get rich you are enabled to give. Until then, you’re just another person with good intentions. Good intentions are nice, but that’s about it.

When you’re rich, you are able to give people experiences they wouldn’t have had. When you’re rich, you are able to give kids opportunities they wouldn’t have got. When you’re rich, you are able to give back to those who have given to you.
