10 superpowers that will completely set you apart

Everyone is a fan of superheroes. Superman, Batman, The Incredible Hulk, among many others… Why?

It’s because they have superpowers, that’s why.

Superpowers are qualities that will make you standout from the crowd. They are capabilities & characteristics that aren’t common. When you have them, you are powerful. When you don’t, you’re just another cog in the wheel.

Real superpowers aren’t as overt as being able to fly, or having the strength of 100+ men… they are subtle. Having the power to influence, the ability to write, possessing a powerful presence… these are real superpowers.

The good news? Superpowers can easily be developed through a systematic approach.

Here are 10 superpowers you should dedicate to develop. The payoff will be bigger than you realize.

1. A Powerful Presence

When you’re completely ‘in the moment’ you have a powerful presence. Your attention is the NOW, and you’re responding to reality as it is unfolding in-front of you… not somewhere lost in your own imagination.

It’s important to understand your imagination. Your imagination has 2 functions:

  • Remembering the past
  • Projecting into the future

This ability to imagine is the human survival advantage. It’s a powerful tool. So powerful that it can easily take complete control of you. In fact, most people most of the time are completely wrapped up in their own imagination and they don’t even know it.

A person who has a powerful presence has an imagination that is at bay. This allows their attention to be pointed at the only thing that is real… NOW. And guess what? NOW is where the power is.

People can feel presence. A powerful presence makes you unforgettable, it gives you a superpower.

2. Writing Skill

Clear writing means clear thinking. If you can’t write clearly, you’re not thinking clearly.

When you practice writing you are developing your thinking. When you have clear thinking you have a massive advantage in the world.

Practice writing. It’s a superpower. Just like any other skill, if you put in the time & effort, you reap the rewards. What do you think I’m doing right now? 😉

3. Presentation Skill

Being able to share ideas with hundreds, thousands, and even millions of people is brand new. In fact, it’s barely 100 years old.

If you’re a person who has great presentation skills, you have a superpower. If you can stand and deliver a message to an audience of any size with a message that resonates, you completely set yourself apart from the average person.

The dividends that this skill provides are limitless. Develop it.

If you want to study effective presentation skill in-action, I highly recommend listening to Tony Robbins, who I consider to be the ‘Michael Jordan’ of presentation.

4. A Personal Brand

These days, anyone can be a celebrity, gain a following and become an influencer. Personal branding is the vehicle to make this happen.

A personal brand is your megaphone to tell the world who you are and what you represent.

Does this still apply if your goal is to climb the corporate ladder, not gain millions of views on Youtube? Absolutely. A personal brand will completely set you apart no matter what arena you apply it. A well-developed personal brand makes you shine.

Untroubled & Strong is my personal brand. I highly recommend you create your own.

5. The Ability to Manage Your Thought & Emotion

“Know thyself” is a popular phrase for a very good reason. Why? Because when you understand how your mind and emotion works, you can start to take charge of it.

How do you develop this understanding? How do you “know thyself?” Simple. By paying attention to… yourself.

This must be crystal clear… you are not your mind, you are not your body, you are not your emotion. You are the observer of them. The observer, the noticer, the oversee-er.

When you’ve spent enough time observing yourself, you start to recognize patterns in your thinking and your emotion. Once these patterns become more and more clear, you can easily start to ‘hack’ the system to keep them pointed toward the good stuff.

Think of it as being the CEO of your mind and emotion. With practice, you gain management skills. When you’re a great CEO of yourself, you have a serious superpower. You can throw yourself into any situation with ease.

6. A Deep Understanding of Influence

When you know how to influence other people, you have superpowers. It doesn’t matter if it’s a kid, the gas station clerk, or a someone about to purchase your company; influence empowers you in a huge way.

You can develop your ability to influence in 2 ways.

  • Study other people/materials
  • Study yourself

Reading books and listening to seminars is a great starting point. However, the real magic is paying attention to yourself. Start paying close attention to what influences you and ask yourself WHY. Over the long-term, you will become a master influencer.

Someone who understands what influences themselves, naturally understands what influences other people. Decide to develop this superpower and it will pay big-time.

7. Digital Marketing Skill

Digital marketing is an incredible opportunity for anyone who takes it. Anyone can get great at digital marketing if they decided they really want to.

How does making thousands, or even millions of dollars by building websites sound to you? I made it happen, and so can you.

If you have digital marketing skills, you have a superpower, it’s that simple. All you need is a computer, an internet connection and some creativity.

8. The Ability to Code

Honestly, coding is the superpower that trumps all other superpowers in terms of ability to make money. These days, billionaires are being made in a few year because of the ability to code.

If you know how to create websites, apps, backends etc. you can easily get rich. The amazing part of all this? Anyone can develop coding skills. There are tons of online coding schools that will expedite the process as well.

Get started learning how to code. It’s a modern day superpower.

9. Self-Discipline

I’m going to be blunt… in the modern world if you don’t have strong self-discipline, you’re screwed. There are too many temptations, too much choice, and a million and one ways to get a cheap thrill.

Coffee, cocaine & corn syrup. Carry-out, Carne Asada & cannabis. The Kardashians, CNN & comment threads. Creampies, Crown Royal & checking Instagram…

The problem is, cheap thrills end up taking more than they give.

I’m going to repeat… cheap thrills end up taking more than they give.

In order to thrive in this modern world, you have to have strong self-discipline. You have to be able to say NO on a regular basis and stick to your guns. You have to be self-driven and you have to steer the course of your own life. If you don’t, someone else will.

The more discipline you develop, the better off you’ll be. Develop self-discipline and you’re developing a superpower.

10. Aesthetics

Fair or not, looking goods makes you stand out. You get attention, and people make positive associations and assumptions about you.

This has been well studied in psychology. It’s called the “Beauty premium phenomenon.” From wikipedia: “studies show that a better physical appearance contributes to the belief of a person being better, smarter, more successful, more important, and more valuable.”

In other words, if you’re hot, people think you’re awesome even if you’re not.

Is there anything you can do about your aesthetics? Of course there is. This is exactly why there is a billion+ dollar beauty industry. The good news? Turns out that you don’t need makeup and you don’t need potions. All you need to do is 3 things:

  • Maximize your health. Aesthetics ultimately boils down to health. Make yourself mega healthy by eating the right foods and moving as much as possible throughout the day; 10,000 steps minimum.
  • Maximize your muscle mass. No, not with steroids. Get into the gym 3 to 5 days a week and build muscle. Dedicate yourself to being strong and packing on as much muscle as you can, naturally.
  • Eliminate excess body fat. If you’re a guy, get your body-fat levels to below 11%. You’ll look your best at 8-10%. Do this with intermittent fasting and a proper lifestyle.

There you go. You’ve just maximized your aesthetic potential. You’re probably still not Brad Pitt, but honestly it doesn’t even matter. If you’ve done those 3 things, you’ve immediately graduated to the 95th percentile.

Final thoughts…

Superpowers are qualities that will make you standout from the crowd. They are capabilities & characteristics that aren’t common. When you have them, you are powerful. When you don’t, you’re just another cog in the wheel.

Building an amazing lifestyle is possible for anyone who truly decides to. When you put serious effort into empowering yourself, the results are unbelievable. Develop your superpowers! There’s absolutely nothing stopping you. There’s nothing to lose and everything to gain.
